We at times observe that our friends or family members have weak nails this may be as a result of many factors which include poor dieting, chemicals like household cleansers, accidents at work, nail biting, health issues, medicine and also moisture. There are many ways of making weak nails strong and beautiful again through either natural or artificial ways. They include the following:
Proper diet
We have all heard of the term “we look what we eat”. A proper diet is very essential to everyone since it benefits the body in so many ways and even acts as a cure to many diseases. Therefore for stronger nails we need to eat foods rich in calcium.
Which include dark leafy greens, cheese, low fat milk and yogurt, b Choy, fortified tofu, okra, broccoli, green beans, almonds, and fish canned with their bones. , zinc rich foods like peas, yoghurt, turkey, fish, pumpkin seeds, walnuts etc. and protein foods like almond nuts, asparagus, avocados, bacon, eggs, coconut, cheese, carrots, bananas, meat
This does not only contribute to a healthy body but to overall healthy body. If you have weak nails include the mentioned above foods in your diet and not forgetting to eat lots of fruits, vegetables and water and improvement should be evident within a couple of days.
Limit water exposure.
When carrying out house hold activities like cleaning utensils, doing laundry and cleaning the house wear gloves and don’t soak in the bath tub for too long or keep your nails outside the water. This helps keep the nails strong.
Avoid using nails as tools.
Even something as quick as opening a soda can or scratching off a price tag puts pressure on the weakest part of your nail, the tip, and can contribute to peeling and breakage. This hence contributes to week nails avoid this at all cost.
Manicures.
Grooming nails will make any shade look great, whether it’s done at home or salon, most important thing is to start with a proper manicure so that the nails are the same length and shape, and cuticles are pushed back. At least manicure the nails once a week and great improvement is going to occur.
Care when cleaning.
Exposure to chemicals and detergents can weaken nails, so it important to keep them protected during household chores by wearing gloves.
Keep the nails short.
If having trouble with weak nails, consider cutting down the length while you build up their strength. Shorter nails are less prone to breaking, because there are fewer exposed edges to tear and less surface area where water and chemicals can be absorbed. Just make sure to file down the nails in one direction, and don’t saw them back and forth, which can cause your nails to split and peel.
Less use of hand sanitizers
Due to exposure to germs while working many people resolve to a quick way of keeping their hands clean hence use of the hand sanitizers. They are good but overuse can harm the nails, therefore ensure you use it minimally since it really dries up the skin and the nails which are not good.
Use of moisturizers
If you don’t keep nails and cuticles moisturized, common nail problems like hang nails and dry skin can result into bigger problems, like chronic cuticle picking and nail peeling. Instead of cutting cuticles which can be painful and even provide an opening for bacteria to get into your nails use cuticle softener to gently push them back, and apply cuticle oil regularly to keep them soft and moisturized.
Through a Proper follow up of the ways discussed above it’s a guarantee that the weak nails that have been a bother are going to be strong and beautiful once again.
